We women are known for our love of shopping and our love of clothes. And you know what, I embrace that stereotype completely.

Shopping is therapeutic to me and clothes are my Prozac (or whatever else it is that everybody's taking these days to be happy). And at the end of the day I have some new stuff and I hopefully look terrific.

One of my favorite things to shop for are sweaters. Sweaters for women are great because they come in so many different styles, weights, designs, and cuts. There's sweaters for every season and every occasion. I love sweaters for women!

My closets are full with sweaters. Wool ones, cashmere ones, vests, cotton and silk. I try to stay away from polyester ones (even though some of them come in stunning array of vibrant colors – I just don't like the “fake” feeling of them).

But lots of women do like polyester sweaters because they are easy to wash (whereas our cashmere and wool ones must be dry cleaned or hand washed).

I totally understand their reasoning behind their purchasing polyester sweaters for women, but at the end of the day, for me, comfort out weighs the convenience and cost of upkeep.

Sweaters for women take up a huge chunk of the marketplace. This is due in part to the fact that women can wear sweaters year around. And in every corner of the globe.

Whereas I love wearing sweaters for fashionable reasons, some women in colder countries must wear sweaters as a way of life.

In some of these countries not only do women wear sweaters most of the time, they also knit sweaters, thus making sweaters for women an important export. Sweaters literally sustain their lives.

Some women may think that sweaters are just too bulky, too heavy, and not form flattering. And back in the olden days that might have been very true, but with today's designers and fabrics, sweaters for women have become anything but boring and unattractive.

Thinner materials and sexier cuts have made sweaters for women a must have for every woman's closet. So go out there and find the perfect sweater for you. One that makes you feel like a million bucks.
