Womens Cashmere Sweaters

Womens cashmere sweaters are the ultimate in luxury and comfort.

Ah, nothing feels as good against your skin as genuine cashmere wool. Normally called just cashmere (probably because the “wool” part makes it sound like it could possibly be scratchy – and nothing could be farther from the truth!), just hearing the word makes you think of softness, luxury, quality, fashionable, and being spoiled rotten.

Whenever I wear one of my cashmere sweaters I always seem to have a smile on my face. Womens cashmere sweaters really do make you feel THAT good.

Every woman should have at least one in their wardrobe, so if you don't, get out there and start shopping for one as soon as you possibly can.

Believe it or not, the cashmere fiber does not come from sheep, but rather from the Cashmere goat. Yes, that's right, that luxurious material comes from a goat. Imagine how soft they must be! And it also originated in Kashmir.

Kashmir is located between Pakistan and India. In the Himalayas. There the cold weather demanded that the people who lived there wear clothing made from material that would keep them very warm.

Cashmere does just that. It provides a natural light-weight insulation without the bulk. Which makes it the perfect fiber to use in making womens cashmere sweaters.

Cashmere is thinner than wool and cotton so designers are able to create more form fitting and flattering sweaters. Some women don't like wearing big bulky sweaters that make them look heavier than they actually are.

Hey, we work hard at the gym to stay in shape, we don't want to cover up all our hard work with a big, bulky sweater.

And it's interesting to note that since cashmere sweaters usually come in the most gorgeous colors, that the original undyed or natural color of cashmere wool is various shades of grey, brown and white. Interesting.

Womens cashmere sweaters are definitely more expensive than their cotton or wool counterparts, and that is because of a couple reasons. One, the Cashmere goat is not as abundant as sheep.

Since the goats are rarer, than their fur is obviously going to be harder to come by. Another reason is that cashmere is stronger and thus has a longer shelf life than some cottons and wools (if taken care of properly, of course).

So it goes back to the common adage that we usually get what we pay for. And gorgeous womens cashmere sweaters are absolutely worth the splurge.
